These are pretty dense and filling so I recommend you to serve them with some ice cream, yogurt, fruits, whipped cream, etc.

I am lately experimenting a lot with brownies, and I am pretty proud of these 1 bowl almond flour brownies. They are gluten-free, refined sugar free, and delicious. However, if you are looking for a even healthier and also vegan option check out my sweet potato brownies, which will blow your mind!

Is almond flour healthier than other flours?

I guess you are asking yourself this question, since it looks like almond flour is getting super trendy to avoid other flours…

Almond flour is made of ground almonds. It is low in carbs, packed with nutrients and super rich in fiber and vitamin E and magnesium. (1)

Ingredients

  • – 1 cup 100 gr almond flour

  • – 1 cup 200 gr brown sugar

  • – 3/4 cup 60 gr cacao powder

  • – 1 tsp 5 gr baking soda

  • – Pinch of sea salt

  • – 2 flax eggs or 2 egg replacers.

  • – 1 tsp 5 ml vanilla extract

  • – 4 Tbsp 60 ml avocado oil, or vegetable oil

  • – 1/4-1/2 100 gr chocolate chunks or chips

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 180C and line a pan with parchment paper. I am using my 20 cm baking pan.
  • In a large bowl combine the dry ingredients: almond flour, sugar, cacao, salt and baking soda.
  • Add the wet ingredients in that same bowl; flax eggs, vanilla and oil.
  • Once everything combined (do not overmix) stir in chocolate chips or chunks, leaving some to top the batter.
  • Bake for about 20-30 min, it really depends on the oven, just check around 20 min to see if the center is cooked.

Notes

  • By the way…These will keep perfectly in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 days. When you want to eat them you can either reheat it so that they are warm or leave them at room temperature for about 20 min.
